Furman + Keil Architects designed the renovation and an addition to a home in Austin, Texas, that was initially a 1980’s suburban brick dwelling.

 

The rework and addition retained the core of the unique construction, however the architects simplified the home by eradicating extraneous gables and appendages. On the outside, stucco covers the outdated brick, retaining the thickness of the masonry and offering a clean canvas for capturing shadows and light-weight.

The up to date inside of the house now has white partitions, walnut casework, and metal detailing, in addition to slate and wooden floors. A big pivoting wooden entrance door welcome guests.

Additional inside the home is the eating room, that’s situated inside a bridge with glass partitions, and connects the assorted areas of the home. A curved staircase close by retains the reminiscence of the previous design.

Again inside and behind the lounge is the brand new kitchen. Skylights above the island assist to maintain the kitchen vibrant.

In the master suite, a blue accent wall creates a colourful backdrop for the mattress, whereas the home windows present tree views.

Within the grasp lavatory, mild coloured partitions and flooring have been mixed with  wooden cabinetry for a up to date look.
